Pet Food Recall
Mar. 18th, 2007 08:06 amIn case you haven't heard about the massive pet food recall, I wanted to make sure you have the important info. It''s pretty serious--cats and dogs who have eaten the recalled foods are developing renal failure.

I double checked the urban legend site snopes.com to make sure that this wasn't some kind of hoax, and it looks like it is for real. Here's the NBC story: http://www.nbc4.com/news/11274986/detail.html
Here is a web site that lists the brands affected: http://www.menufoods.com/recall/
There is a link on that page for cat foods and one for dog foods--that will then take you to a list of brand names. If you see a brand name you're using, click on it and it will tell you which lot numbers to look out for.
Luckily for me, I'm feeding my cats ProPlan, which appears to not be on the list. Please double check to make sure the furry members of your family aren't eating the affected food and spread the news to anyone else who might not have heard.
