So a friend's response to one of the five idiosyncrasies memes made me think...

What are the jokes people make about something about you--your name, your physical appearance, your job, your background--that you just really don't find funny, even when they mean well or are just teasing?

For example, for me, the whole "those who can, do, those who can't, teach" joke. Never find it funny. Ever.

Go ahead a cut/paste the question and list your trigger Not!Funny jokes. I'm going to ponder and do the same, because I know there are more...

So, you are going to be a liar (as opposed to lawyer)?

I just spent a weekend with my father-in-law, and these were the ones that got very very old by the end of the four days:
- Calling lakes in Texas ditches. I get it. Your lakes up in Michigan are huge, hence our naming them the GREAT Lakes. We didn't really have the glacier activity down here that you guys were able to work off of, so we have smaller lakes. But they are still lakes. Give me a break already. No need to bring it up every five minutes! I never claimed that they were comparable.
- Michigan is soooo different from Texas in that, unlike us, all of their streets have unique names that make it much easier to get around. He kept telling me how all of our streets have the same name and make it really hard to navigate. Now, I'll admit Austin is hard to navigate if you're unfamiliar with it, but that by no means means that all of our streets have the same or commonplace names as he kept pointing out all weekend long. I finally got to the point on that one that I did start pointing out their unique street signs as we passed them, you know, when I saw streets named "Main Street" and "Michigan Avenue" and such. I couldn't let the smartass in me stay locked up completely while I was there.

Those are the first ones to come to mind. Sorry for venting, but I couldn't blow up at him. Then your lovely post was up and gave me the perfect opening!
